FAQ

SWATCHES & MATERIALS

How can I see the color/texture of the material before placing my order?

You can request up to five swatches for the cost of postage ($2.95). They’re cut from the exact rolls I use for production, so what you receive is the true color and texture of your kit.

Can I supply my own material for you to build my interior?

In most cases, yes. If you have a specialty material you’d like to use, I just need a photo and yardage info first so I can confirm it will sew correctly on my machines and is appropriate for automotive use. Please note that we do not warranty materials provided by customers and there is no discount offered for supplying your own material.

Can I order just the materials to finish the rest of my interior?

Yes — I offer yardage in most vinyls, tweeds, and leathers, as well as matching piping. Perfect if you’re finishing door cards, rear panels, consoles, or working with a local shop.

I ordered swatches but haven’t received them (or only received some).

Swatches ship USPS in a small envelope and usually arrive in 3–7 business days. If anything was unavailable, I include a note. If something seems missing, just reach out and I’ll re-send.

Can I pay to expedite my samples?

Yes — Priority or Express upgrades are available by request.

STYLE & DESIGN

What’s the difference between open-back and closed-back seats?

An open-back seat has exposed metal framing visible when folded forward.

A closed-back seat has a finished rear panel that covers the back entirely.

These require different pattern sets. If you’re unsure, send me a photo and I’ll identify it.

What is the difference between the styles (Two-Tone, Diamond Series, Plaid, Bolster options, etc.)?

Each style offers a different combination of stitching, panels, textures, and layout. Two-Tone uses contrasting materials, Diamond Series features stitched inserts in your chosen scale, Plaid centers the weave as the focal point, and bolster options create the perimeter structure of the insert. You can preview examples in the collections.

Do you offer color matching?

I can help you choose the closest match within the B62 material library. Exact commercial dye-lot matching isn’t available, but we can get very close.

Do you take custom orders?

Absolutely — two-tone layouts, contrast stitching, diamond patterns, plaid combinations, bolster changes, piping, embroidery, custom paneling, and more. Just message me with your ideas.

FITMENT & FRAME

What trucks do your seat kits fit?

I pattern specifically for vintage bench seats within the OEM year ranges for Chevy/GMC, Ford, and Dodge. If you’re unsure about your frame, a quick photo is enough for me to confirm fit.

How do I know if my seat frame has been swapped?

Seat swaps are extremely common because many year ranges bolt right in. If your frame doesn’t match the year of your truck, I can identify it from a photo and adjust your kit accordingly.

What if my kit doesn’t fit?

Fit issues are rare, but if anything isn’t perfect, send photos and I’ll make adjustments or corrections. I always stand behind my patterns and craftsmanship.

What’s included in a seat kit?

Your chosen style includes the full upholstery set for your seat bottom and seat back, plus listing pockets and pattern-specific paneling. Inserts, bolsters, piping, diamond stitching, and other features vary by design.

Do you offer matching door panels, carpet, or headliners?

Yes — I can make matching wraps for door panels and other flat interior panels, such as armrests, rear panels, or console lids. These are quoted individually based on size and complexity.

FOAM KITS & INSTALLATION

Do you make foam kits?

Yes — I make foam kits for Ford, Chevy, Dodge, and International bench seats through 1966. These are flat, HD36 foam kits shaped to the correct frame for your year and make. They ship vacuum-sealed to reduce shipping cost and will fully expand within 24–72 hours after opening.

What’s included in a foam kit?

A high-density foam replacement shaped for your seat frame. Burlap and hog rings are no longer included since most installers prefer to supply their own. If you do need the installation kit, that is available for purchase separately.

Can I install the kit myself?

Yes — many customers install their own kits with basic tools. I’m always happy to offer guidance, or I can recommend local shops if you’re nearby.

ORDERING & PRODUCTION

How can I check on the status of my order?

You’ll receive emails as your kit moves through the queue. If you ever want a real-time update, just message me — I’m always happy to check.

Can I expedite my order?

Sometimes. If your deadline is tight, send me a message before ordering and I’ll give you an honest answer based on the current queue. Rush timelines aren’t always possible, but I try to accommodate when I can.

Rush orders carry an 18% surcharge and typically ship out within 2 weeks.

What is the current turnaround time?

Turnaround varies seasonally and is always listed on the website. Every kit is slow-crafted by hand, so quality is prioritized over speed.

Can I add something to my existing order?

Often yes, as long as production has not begun. Contact me quickly if you need to add materials, pattern changes, or extra yardage.

Can I cancel my order?

There is no penalty for cancelling within the first 24 hours.

After 24 hours, materials are already ordered, pulled, or cut for your kit, so cancellations receive a 50% refund.

Are your kits handmade?

Yes — every kit is patterned, cut, sewn, and finished by hand in my downtown Owosso studio.

SHIPPING

What shipping method do you use?

Seat kits ship UPS Ground with tracking. Foam kits may ship vacuum-sealed. Swatches and small items ship USPS.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes — most regions can checkout automatically. Some oversized items may require a custom quote.

Are import duties or tariffs included in shipping?

No — international orders may incur customs duties, VAT, or import taxes in your country. These fees are not included in B62 shipping rates and are the customer’s responsibility.

What happens if my package is lost or damaged?

Contact me immediately with photos if applicable. I handle the carrier claim and will repair or replace items as needed.

RETURNS & WARRANTY

Do you accept returns?

Because every B62 kit is made to order in your chosen materials, returns are generally not accepted.

If a return is approved on a case-by-case basis, a 20% restocking fee applies and the customer is responsible for return shipping.

I’m missing something or received the wrong item.

Let me know within 14 days with clear photos, and I’ll correct or replace anything inaccurate.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes — B62 kits include a one-year limited workmanship warranty covering stitching, seams, and panel assembly.

Damage from installation, wear and tear, improper cleaning, misuse, modification, or customer-supplied materials is not covered.

What are delivery claim timelines?

Missing or incorrect items must be reported within 14 days of delivery.
